Founded in 2009, Butterfly of Hope is a team of community volunteers who walk for cancer research, adjunct therapies, and other health advances.
Chad Cieslik was an inspiration behind the Butterfly of Hope Team. He is missed.
The team was created with the guidance of the late CHAD CIESLIK (AKA PAPA BUTTERFLY) who passed away early in 2018. He and the team raised $3 million for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (thePMCF) whose mission is, “to raise and steward funds to deliver breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at The Princess Margaret, one of the top five cancer research centres in the world.”
Butterfly of Hope’s primary events are the Journey To Conquer Cancer and The Walk To Conquer Cancer™ benefiting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Organized through thePMCF, annual events are in June and September. Close to 50 Butterflies from across Canada walk and/or volunteer at health stations and other pit stops at events. There are a variety of ways to contribute.
