| We hope that you’re getting out to enjoy the summer weather! For those who don’t walk on a regular basis, you’re like many of us, but it’s time to fix that! The Journey to Conquer Cancer is a week away and the Walk to Conquer Cancer, just three months away. A big thanks to those who have already registered for one of those walks and to those who have assured us that they will be joining us! We can hardly wait to walk with you again! For those unfamiliar with the Journey, it is a fun family walk on Father’s Day every year. Kids and dogs love the 1k-5k walk with great entertainment along the way and activities at the start and finish. The Journey is also an introduction to working with The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to provide fundraising for a great cause. The Walk to Conquer Cancer is familiar to all of you. Some of you have walked many times and some are still walking. There are walkers whom we haven’t seen for a while for many good reasons. Some of you have fought cancer during those years and some are still bravely still going through treatments. Many have been through it and are now cancer free. Congratulations to all of you! You are indeed very brave warriors! It would be great to get together with you and celebrate you, and all who have fought a good fight as well as to honour and remember those we have lost. Research goes on and amazing advances have been made! Some of us have experienced those in person. In speaking with researchers, radiologists and others involved in making use of new technologies, Artificial Intelligence, clinical trials and personalized care, we are awestruck at their positivity, dedication, and excitement about the progress that has been made and how thankful they are for the fundraising that is being done. They ask that we thank you all for any part that you have played in this. Without the funds that we continue to raise, their work and HOPE for what the future holds would not be possible. Two last and very important pieces of news. 1. The Princess Margaret is sharing new findings, developments and information with researchers and cancer facilities in many countries around the world. 2. New technologies are making progress faster. Let’s work together to keep this momentum going and let’s encourage others to join Butterfly of Hope to rebuild our team and contribute even more so that we will be able to conquer cancer in our lifetime!
