Challenge Number One: Double Your Difference
In honour of World Cancer Day, we’re taking on the, “OneWalk, Double Your Difference Challenge”, to refer at least one new walker from now until Mon., Feb. 4.
Please join us and help to grow our team! If you refer a walker before World Cancer Day on Feb. 4, you’ll receive $50 towards your fundraising goal, a pair of OneWalk socks, a World Cancer Day badge on your personal page AND a physical badge to wear proudly on event day.
If you need assistance please reach out to one of us or to Shasa Boshoff, Walker Coach.

Challenge Number Two: 25 km Walk Challenge
On World Cancer Day – February Fourth
Location: MaRs Discovery District
College Entrance by Mercatto (101 College Street West)
Any time between 8:00 a.m. and noon
Join us for the World Cancer Day 25-kilometre Walk Challenge.
Hop on a treadmill for however long you can – any amount counts!
Let’s unite for World Cancer Day with one common goal: to Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime.
If you can do this for a few minutes or much longer, please let us know and also advise Shasa Boshoff at OneWalk what time you can be there. She will reserve a treadmill for you.
For those who can stay until noon and have time, let’s go out for lunch and get caught up!
Take Advantage of this opportunity, World Cancer Day, to raise funds!
All other cancer agencies, foundations, cancer centers and teams likely will! It will help you to get to your donors first! Send your first letters to your donors now and ask them to participate in World Cancer Day with you by making a donation to your walk or walking with you on Butterfly of Hope.
Your Letters should:
- Be brief
- Let donors know about World Cancer Day
- Remind them of why you are doing this walk
- Let them know that they can honour, support or remember someone by keying in their name along with theirs in the recognition box with the phrase, In Support Of (name), In Memory Of, or In Honour Of
- Advise them they will get a tax receipt for $20 or more
- Invite them to walk with you or make a donation to help enable you to walk
- Include a link to your page
It has been a year since we lost Chad as our beloved Papa Butterfly.
Let’s continue his legacy of putting heart and soul into Conquering Cancer in Our Lifetime.

Thanks for your support
